Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway (late review sorry)

Alright I was suppose to do this yesterday, but to be honest I totally forgot because I was playing the game =].

Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway is the most authentic World War II game to date. It is made by Gearbox and published through Ubisoft.

Storyline:
First off lets get to know the story shall we? The story of Hell's Highway is about Matt Baker and his 101st airborne men. They are doing the biggest failure in WWII history called "Operation: Market Garden". If you do not know what "Operation: Market Garden" is then honestly go back to history class cause everyone should know about the biggest mission failure in WWII history. Anyhow if you played any of the other games you would understand the hell and graphic images Matt Baker has seen since he was promoted to lead men. He did not want it to happen it was put on him. The story is emotional and drama driven. It is one of those things where you will realize the horror of the real life soldiers of WWII. The story is honestly as simple as that.

Game play:
The game play is a pretty basic aspect you could say. If you have played the other Brothers in Arms games you will be completely use to it. But this time there is a little something different. They have a whole new cover system where you can easily pop from first person and dig yourself into cover for a third person view. with this you can order your men very easily and at the same time keep yourself alive which is a key factor in the game. Also with the cover it is DESTRUCTIBLE! sorry I got carried away with it there. But yes it is destructible, so if you are hiding behind a fence and you think you are going to be safe well the jokes on you cause your not. Now you are asking what about all those MG42 Nest in the windows and such they always annoy me. What do you think I should do Gage? You know what you should do is order your Bazooka team to blow that mother Fu**** thing up! What they also brought to this game is authenticity and I can't stress how authentic this game is. The voice, character animations, cursing, blood, and gore makes them game as authentic as it is. This game is by far one of the goriest games I have seen. First off, this is a WWII game so if you want to be authentic then you have to have real soldier talk. These guys will cuss their brains out during cinematics depending on what is going on. Second, the character animations show the drama that is going on in their faces and body expressions. They will sound mad and look mad and everything like that. Last of all, I know this is the part you have been waiting for. BLOOD and GORE! Yup, Gage why would they be crazy enough to put blood and gore in a WWII video game. Well it is called authenticity. Gearbox wanted you to see what the soldiers saw as their own brothers and friends are getting limbs blow off and bodies ripped in half. They have something called "Action Camera". Action Camera happens whenever ever you pull off a certain shot or explosion. They never have a clean cut on the body parts when the camera happens. You will see bones, blood, brains, and bodies in half, fingers shot off and everything. This is what I have on gameplay. I think they did a wonderful job on keeping it authentic.

Multiplayer:
Alright this is the part where its not as awesome. The multiplayer is what I like to call in "Beta Mode" which means it needs to be patched badly because it is laggy as heck. It would be fun don't get me wrong, it is just that with it being laggy and such it is just not something to look forward to. But then again you are buying Brothers in Arms why do you need multiplayer with such a dramatic and emotional storyline.

Graphics: The graphics are beautiful. It will have its graphical hiccups a lot, but when that hiccup is gone you are like "wow that looks gorgeous". When you play the "Black Friday" mission you will see why the game looks amazing. I mean the fire effects make you think holy crap I really need to put that fire out, o wait it is just my game. No lie you will.

Lasting Appeal:
This game will stay in my collection for as long as I can think. This has a good amount of lasting appeal. This game is so hard it will make you wanna play the game over again just to go through the awesome storyline and the awesome gameplay. Though the multiplayer does upset you will love the single player the most of course.

Score: 9/10

You can find this game currently on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in Regular Editions and Limited Editions on both. PC Version to be in stock October 8th in both Regular Editions and Limited Editions.

We beat all our games before we review them.

My Name Is Not Earl (It's Jake)

Yeah, I agree with Gage. The debate is important...

...but Jim and Pam are much more important.

I'm very pleased to be a part of the Gage Grove experience. I hope that, in these upcoming months, we can enlighten the world...

First off...we are both Gamestop employees. Of course, you all probably have some pre-conceived notions about us AS Gamestop employees...and here they are:

- We don't actually play games, except for maybe Warcraft. (MYTH BUSTED!)
- We are pushy and arrogant human beings who don't listen to other gamers. (Only Gage is...)
- We tend to love one console and hate another. (Not true. A REAL gamer plays games, not systems...)
- We are hardcore PC gamers and refuse to game on Macs. (Yeah...that one's actually pretty accurate...I think. Gage; you may have to edit this when I'm done.)
- We are shallow in our outlook on gaming. (False! We appreciate games for being fun, innovative, and evoking emotion. Bioshock says what!?)
- We are elitist pigs who hate the 40-year-old dads that come in to Gamestop, clueless about gaming. (While that does pertain to pretty much every Gamestop employee in the world, that is not how Gage and I are. We help these people find good games that we know will be enjoyed by their children. We're also family friendly. AKA - Less GTA, more Katamari.)

Here's a list of things I would like to review:

VIDEO GAMES:

PC:
- GTAIV (compared to 360 and PS3 versions)
- Crysis: Warhead
- The Sims 3

360:
- Gears of War 2
- Fable 2
- Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts
- Star Ocean: The Last Hope
- Alan Wake

PS3:
- LittleBigPlanet
- Resistance 2
- HOME
- Socom: Confrontation
- Killzone 2
- Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
- Wipeout HD
- White Knight Chronicles
- Heavy Rain
- God of War III
- Bioshock (Compared to PC and 360 versions)

Multi-plat:
- Left 4 Dead (PC, 360)
- Call of Duty: World at War (All)
- Mirror's Edge (All)
- Fallout 3 (All)
- FarCry 2 (All)
- Guitar Hero: World Tour (360, PS3)
- Rock Band 2 (360, PS3)
- Prince of Persia (All)

TV SHOWS:

- The Office

- LOST
-
Pushing Daisies

That about does it for my first post. Anything you'd like to add...Gage?
The thing I would like to add is that this is all true. All your knowledge now comes from us. We will talk about politics for sure with the debates done and voting coming up. - Gage

NBC

Do you not understand what you have done with my night? You put two episodes of My Name is Earl on for tonight but no OFFICE! What is this junk? Believe me the VP debate is not more important than The Office. Sarah Palin is from Alaska what good could she do? Lets just leave it at that.

My Philosophy on this Generation

I am that guy that thinks this generation is full of one image. A image that is the same. Kids smoke, drink, do drugs, drive fast. Why do they do this? Because you know it's "what the cool kids do". This is why this generation is falling into such a downward spiral because kids want to be part of this image of some called "coolness". I think if you're one of those kids you need to look inside yourself and realize this image you have fallen into. Kids think your not cool cause you don't drink, smoke, or do anything bad. You get called a Goodie-too-shoo. Don't drink and drive. Don't do drugs. Don't be stupid. You may say what you want to say, but you will never do what you want to do. I know most will try to write a philosophy about how drugs can be good. Believe me I don't care what it says. Nothing will change my view on what this generation has come to. Go on with your dumb ways, but you will soon find out why stuff is happening to you. So what I am trying to get around is that you shouldn't fall into this Image

Be Yourself That Is How To Be Cool

That is my philosophy on this generation of kids. Take this into consideration.
